Questions
How Does This Actually Work?
The honest answers to what educators and directors ask most, before booking a fit call.
Can we use government funding to pay for this? +
Yes. Our professional development aligns with major funding guidelines. Many services utilise existing state and national programs, including:
- NSW: Start Strong Funding
- VIC: School Readiness Funding
- QLD: Kindy Uplift Program
- National: The Inclusion Support Program (ISP) for capacity building
We can discuss your funding options when you reach out.
How does this differ from a one-off workshop? +
Workshops provide isolated training without long-term support. Pocket Education delivers an ongoing clinical partnership. We combine scheduled coaching with a continuous resource library. This combination gives your team immediate, on-demand support to navigate situations as they arise in the room.
How many coaching sessions are included? +
Session count depends entirely on your selected plan. The Starter plan includes 3 sessions over six months. The Professional plan provides 6 sessions over six months. The Premium plan delivers 12 sessions across twelve months. Every tier includes full resource library access.
What occurs during a live coaching session? +
Each session is a private, one-hour online clinical consultation. We partner collaboratively with your team to co-design your supports and implementation plans. This ensures everything is curated around your current classroom challenges, specific goals, and individual staff development plans. Your educators discuss active room dynamics directly with their clinician, leaving with co-designed practical, research-backed steps. Every meeting is recorded and archived, allowing multiple educators to participate together or catch up later.
Who facilitates the coaching sessions? +
Certified Practising Speech Pathologists facilitate all sessions. Our founding clinician brings a diverse career working alongside various allied health and medical professionals in both speech pathology and transdisciplinary key worker roles. All our clinicians are registered with Speech Pathology Australia, possessing deep clinical expertise, experience across diverse neurotypes, and a thorough understanding of early childhood settings.
Is there a limit on participating staff? +
No. Centre subscriptions feature zero user caps. We do not charge per-staff or per-seat fees. Your entire current and incoming educator team receives full access. This ensures unified training and a shared understanding across your service.
How much roster time does this require? +
Each scheduled coaching session requires exactly one hour. Scheduling is completely flexible and is guided by your team's availability. The video library is structured to introduce or consolidate content at times that suit them best. Every video module is under 20 minutes long. Printable summaries are built for immediate classroom reference and display, requiring zero extra homework or out-of-hours study from your educators.
What happens if our staff changes mid-plan? +
Your subscription covers the centre, not named individuals. New educators are added to your account at zero cost. Departing staff profiles are simply deactivated. This structure protects your training investment when staff turnover occurs.
What is the exact process to sign up? +
You can begin by completing our online assessment. Alternatively, you can book a free fit call or email our team. We will discuss your centre's specific needs and map out our recommendations. We then issue a private sign-up link once we confirm that we align and are a good fit for each other.
What support is available between coaching sessions? +
Your team maintains full access to the video library. Downloadable handouts and printable summary sheets remain permanently available. Educators can also utilise direct email support with their dedicated Speech Pathologist.
Do we need specialised technology to participate? +
No. Live coaching occurs over standard video conferencing software. Multiple team members can view the meeting together. The complete neuroaffirming resource library operates on any digital device with a standard internet browser.
How long is the subscription commitment? +
Partnerships run for either six or twelve months, as we believe that one-off workshops rarely generate sustainable practice change. A six-month term builds a foundation and a twelve-month term embeds sustainable, long-term practice change across every room.
Can individual educators purchase a subscription? +
No. Subscriptions are strictly restricted to whole-centre access. This structure ensures a unified professional approach across the team. Individual educators can refer their director to our fit call. Families can buy the Family Resource Package independently.
Do you support primary schools? +
Our service is designed for early childhood settings, and we also partner with primary schools supporting the early years of schooling. The same coaching and resource model applies, with professional development that adheres to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST), so your teaching team's learning counts toward the standards they already report against. Reach out and we will talk through what a partnership could look like for your school.
Do you support settings outside of standard early childhood centres? +
Yes. While early childhood education and care (ECEC) is our primary focus, we partner with whole teams across adjacent settings on a case-by-case basis. This includes:
- Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care teams
- Early intervention key worker or transdisciplinary teams and Allied Health Assistant (AHA) groups
- Primary school learning support and inclusion teams
- Supported playgroup facilitators and Child & Family Centre teams
Please note that we work exclusively with whole teams and organisations rather than individual practitioners.
Because effective interprofessional collaboration relies on strong alignment, we hold a brief intake discovery call before commencing to ensure our approach is the right fit for your team's specific context.
What if we are uncertain about committing? +
Please schedule a free 15-minute fit call. We will evaluate your centre's current capacities and constraints. If our framework does not match your specific goals or needs, we will tell you honestly and recommend alternative resources.
